Modular Shelving

Modular shelving, also called kit bay shelving, is our usual answer for archive storage. Each bay takes ten average archive boxes, and two continuous bays take twenty-five. It also goes into warehouses picking smaller fast-moving stock. Bays stand 2000mm high × 900mm wide, in depths of 400mm, 500mm and 600mm.

Each bay takes three to seven shelves, with a safe working load of 110kg per level and 550kg per bay. The pre-galvanised steel finish wipes clean, so it goes into hospitals, clean rooms, changing rooms and schools. It looks tidy enough for front-of-house storage.

For garages and domestic storage, bays can be built to any height from 300mm to 2000mm. We hold this range in volume year round.

The same bay, specified differently

This is the system we sell as industrial shelving for warehouses, in a pre-galvanised finish with the shelf count set for boxes and files rather than cartons. If you are fitting out a store room or a warehouse floor, that page carries the priced bays.

Adding to it later

The system is made of interchangeable parts: uprights, beams, shelves, dividers and accessories. Bays can be added, re-shelved, broken down and moved as stock changes, so you extend what you have rather than replacing it. Shelf heights move to suit whatever is going on them, and the bays take bins, drawers and dividers.

Beyond archives it goes into spare parts stores, e-commerce picking, engineering and maintenance stores, retail stockrooms and carton picking on a warehouse floor.
