Cantilever Racking

Cantilever racking carries bulky, long or irregular stock that will not sit on pallet racking. The upright sits behind the load and the arms run out in front of it, so timber lengths, steel sections and plastic pipe slide straight on and off. You will find it in builders' providers, steel distributors, plumb centres and manufacturing plants.

Every rack is built to the job. Arms and columns come in a range of heights, depths and load ratings, and bay lengths follow whatever you are storing. A forklift loads it from the front. We have built systems to ten metres, and columns can be fabricated with backing and a roof so stock can live outside.

Made to order

• Column heights: to 10000mm.
• Column load: to 10000kg.
• Overall depth: to 2300mm.
• Arm lengths: to 2000mm. Most jobs use 1000mm or 1200mm.
• Arm load: to 1000kg.
• Bay centres: 1000mm, 1200mm or 1500mm.
• Finish: painted for warehouse use, fully galvanised for outdoors.

What we stock

Alongside the made-to-order racks we hold bays at 3000mm high with columns at 1000mm centres. Arms come at 1000mm and 1200mm, rated 250kg each, on 300mm × 80mm columns rated 1000kg excluding the base. Bases run to 1200mm deep, and you need another 400mm from the wall for counterbalance, so a 1200mm base wants 1600mm of floor.

What it holds

Timber and lumber, steel sections, pipe and tube, PVC conduit, sheet materials, furniture and worktops. Anything that has to be laid down flat somewhere because a pallet will not take it.

Advantages

• Open front: no front upright, so a forklift loads and unloads straight in, and you can see what you have.
• Off the floor: long stock is stored rather than leaned against a wall, which cuts trip hazards and damage.
• Uses the height: several arm levels in the footprint one stack used to take.
• Adjustable: arm levels move as the stock profile changes.
• Indoors or out: painted or fully galvanised, with backing and roofs available.
