Drive-in Pallet Racking

Drive-in racking removes the aisles. Instead of placing pallets from an aisle onto beams, the forklift drives straight into the lane and sets each pallet on rails running the depth of the block. Because the floor space that would have been aisles becomes storage, a drive-in block holds up to 90% more pallets than conventional pallet racking in the same footprint.

The trade-off, plainly

Pallets load and unload from the same end of the lane, so the last pallet in is the first one out. To reach a pallet in the middle of a lane, you take out the ones in front of it first. That makes drive-in racking the right choice for large volumes of the same product — drinks, tiles, bagged goods, seasonal stock — and the wrong choice for mixed picking. If you pick different products every day, adjustable pallet racking will serve you better.
